Went to Prims. Notes Grandad went to “Prims”. “Prims” is a reference to Primitive Methodists, in general, and to Bourne Primitive Methodist Chapel in Kirkby, specifically, see Chapter 17. He probably went with grandma, Ethel Cirket. They were “courting” at this time and would marry in 1930, see Chapter 16.

Strikers locally did not go to work. Notes Grandad noted that although the general strike had ended the previous day, see Chapter 25, local workers had not yet returned to work.
