Went to the Empire (Nottm). Notes Nottm refers to Nottingham. The Empire was a cinema in Nottingham. Adjacent to the Theatre Royal, this variety theatre was opened in 1898. Put the clock on. Notes The practice of moving the clocks forward to “summer time” in the spring, started in 1916. It is of interest that the change in 1923 was later than is done now, at the end of March.
