Notes

Black Jumpers

Mum noted that she bought black jumpers in the morning (am). The entry definitely looks plural but she does not specify how many she bought, see Chapter 125.

Hair Set

Mum then had her hair set.

Typing and Duplicating

According to mum’s CV, see Chapter 105, she ran a typing and duplicating business from home until 1975, see Chapter 121. However, she clearly continued doing typing and duplicating after that, possibly mainly for church. On this occasion, she noted that she typed (typ) and duplicated (dup) in the afternoon (aft).

St Peter’s Guild

Mum noted that, at night, she went to the Lansdowne Hotel with St Peter’s (St P) Guild, a fellowship group associated with St Peter’s Park Lane Methodist Church, see Chapter 124. Gerald and Thelma Cooke picked mum and Pam Ludlow up. Others who went included Margaret and Tom Culley, Heather and John Ferguson and Jill and Brian Stock. Mum commented that they had a nice time.

Lansdowne Hotel

The Lansdowne Hotel was located at 116 Thorpe Road. It remains a hotel but, sometime between August 2016 and May 2017, it was renamed the Norwich Hotel. Apparently, it was built in 1936 and renovated in 1950 and 1990.

Antidepressants

Mum had had severe struggles with her mental health, suffering with depression and anxiety, see Chapter 116. She was on antidepressants. While she usually took one tablet of amitryptilline (Tryptizol, T) at night, she took none on this occasion.

Senokot

Mum noted taking one Senokot (S) presumably for constipation. Senokot is a senna-containing medicine for the treatment of constipation.
