Notes
Auntie Dolly
A Dolly refers to grandma’s cousin Dorothy Rose who we knew as Auntie Dolly. She lived in Bedford but visited grandma often and had been staying with her over Christmas, see Chapter 122. She usually travelled to and from Bedford by bus. On this occasion, mum dropped her at the bus station to catch a bus at 7.10am.
Auntie Amy
A Amy refers to grandma’s friend Amy Wilson who we knew as Auntie Amy. She lived in Mansfield and had also been staying with grandma over Christmas,, see Chapter 122. Grandma went back with her to Mansfield and was staying with Jim and Renie Seville. We also referred to them as uncle and aunt although Jim was actually grandma’s first cousin.
A Filling
Roger refers to me. I went to the dentist for a filling, see Chapter 116.
Tricia’s Ankle
Patricia refers to my older sister Tricia. She had a swollen ankle and went to see our GP Dr Welch at the branch clinic at Tuckswood, see Chapter 116. He told her that he thought it was just bruised but she should go back in a week to ten days if it was no better.
Antidepressants
During this period, mum had had severe struggles with her mental health, suffering with depression and anxiety, see Chapter 116. She was on antidepressants. On this occasion, she took one tablet of amitryptilline (Tryptizol, T).
Senokot
Mum noted taking two Senokot (S) presumably for constipation. Senokot is a senna-containing medicine for the treatment of constipation.
