Typing and Duplicating Church Notices
According to mum’s CV, see Chapter 105, she ran a typing and duplicating business from home until 1975, see Chapter 121. She also did typing and duplicating for church. On this occasion, she noted that she typed and duplicated church notices in the morning (am).
Jigsaw
P refers to my older sister Tricia (Patricia). She and mum did a jigsaw in the afternoon (aft). Based on the diaries and my own memories, they often had a jigsaw on the go over Christmas, see Chapter 122.
Playing a Game
Mum noted that she played a game at night. She did not specify which game was played or who played but again it was very common for us to play board games at Christmas, see Chapter 122.
Work
Roger refers to me. Mum noted that I was at work all day. At that time, I had a Saturday job at the Scientific Anglian bookshop but also sometimes worked there during the holidays, see Chapter 119.
Antidepressants and Sleeping Tablets
During this period, mum had had severe struggles with her mental health, suffering with depression and anxiety, see Chapter 116. She was on antidepressants. On this occasion, she took one tablet of long-acting amitryptilline (Lentizol, L). In addition, she also sometimes struggled to sleep and then took sleeping tablets. On this occasion, she took one tablet of clomethiazole (Heminevrin) as she had not slept well the night before.
