Notes

Park Lane Methodist Church

Ethel refers to my grandmother Ethel May Cecilia Parkin. Park Lane MC refers to Park Lane Methodist Church. I am not exactly sure why grandma went there, see Chapter 124.

Grandma Paid the Gas Bill

Grandad noted that grandma paid the gas bill. At this time, they often paid utility bills in person, see Chapter 125.

Mum Made Biscuits for a Coeliac Society Meeting

Mum was very involved with the Coeliac Society at this point including with a local group. There was to be a meeting the next day and mum made biscuits for it, see Chapter 116.

Alan Bought Shoes at Drumee’s

Alan refers to my brother. He would have been 12 at this point. He bought new shoes from Drumee’s, see Chapter 125. Mum said he did this by himself. I don’t know if this means he went by himself or if he paid for them himself.

Mum Did Not Take Any Tablets at Night

Mum sometimes noted taking Tryptizol or Lentizol, which are both forms of amitryptilline, at night. However, on this day, she did not take any. I am not sure if she was meant to be taking them regularly or as required, see Chapter 116.
