Ethel went with Ron to Drayton Church with others from DMC. Harvest Festival, united service. In the afternoon she went to DMC. S & Fam came for tea.

Notes

Ethel refers to my grandmother Ethel May Cecilia Parkin. Ron refers to Ron Douglas who lived next-door to grandma and grandad at 168 Drayton High Road.

Drayton Church refers to the Anglican parish church of St Margaret’s, see Chapter 90. There were quite often joint services between this church and Drayton Methodist Church (DMC) which grandma attended, see Chapter 107. On this occasion, there was a joint Harvest Festival service in the morning with grandma attending the usual service at the Methodist Church in the afternoon.
