I started to gather cones & needles off the lawns but it started to rain, so I had to pack up, wind & rain all day from 11.00.

Notes

Grandma and grandad had large lawns at the front and back of their house. These were surrounded by pine trees. So, whenever it was windy, the lawns were covered in cones, needles and twigs. These had to be cleared before the grass could be cut, see Chapter 109.
