E&D went to Norwich early. Mrs Davis nephew in Law had an accident so Mrs Davis is going to Eckling Grange on 18 instead of 19th.

Notes
Grandad was unwell at this time having had a stroke in early April, see Chapter 100. Based on handwriting, I think grandma mainly kept his diary for him between 24 April and 27 August. Mostly, she used grandad’s voice. She usually referred to herself in the third person and grandad in the first person. So, in this entry, E refers to grandma, Ethel May Cecilia Parkin.
D refers to grandma’s paternal cousin, Dorothy Rose, who we knew as Auntie Dolly. She lived in Bedford but visited grandma and grandad several times per year always coming to Norwich by bus, see Chapter 106. She had arrived a few days earlier.
Mrs Davis was a friend of grandma’s through Drayton Methodist Church’s women’s group, see Chapter 107. She had had a fall a few days days earlier which meant she needed to move to Eckling Grange a Christian care home in Dereham, see Chapter 100. I am not sure exactly why but it seems this accident to her nephew-in-law meant that the day for her going forward was brought forward one day.
