E went to DMC.

Notes
Grandad was unwell at this time having had a stroke in early April, see Chapter 100. Based on handwriting, I think grandma mainly kept his diary for him between 24 April and 27 August. Mostly, she used grandad’s voice. She referred to herself in the third person, for example referring to herself here as E. So, E in this entry refers to my grandmother Ethel May Cecilia Parkin.
DMC refers to Drayton Methodist Church. Grandma attended services and was also part of a women’s group which met on a Thursday, see Chapter 107. Grandad always referred to it as DLM (Drayton Ladies’ Meeting).
