Friday 5 April 1974

Ethel went in the garden. I did jobs in the cabin. Ethel had garden fire.

Notes

Ethel refers to my grandmother Ethel May Cecilia Parkin. Grandma and grandad had large garden at the front and back of their house, see Chapter 109. Grandad’s preferred way of getting rid of garden refuse was to bur it. On this occasion, it was grandma who had the bonfire.

Grandad had a purpose-built cabin in which he did practical work, particularly woodworking, see Chapter 85.
