Ethel went twice to DMC. Sheila & Family came for tea, Elizabeth brought a Boehm flute which she hopes to play, she is having tuition at school. Mrs James died 20.00 a member of DLM.

Ethel refers to my grandmother Ethel May Cecilia Parkin. DMC refers to Drayton Methodist Church, see Chapter 107.

Sheila refers to my mother Sheila May Drew nee Parkin. It was our practice to go to grandma and grandad’s on Sunday afternoons for tea, see Chapter 106.

Elizabeth refers to my sister Liz. As grandad mentioned, she learned to play the flute at school, see Chapter 103.

Mrs James refers to Alice May James. She had been born on 5 March 1892, see Chapter 100. DLM refers to Drayton Ladies’ Meeting which was based at Drayton Methodist Church, see Chapter 107.
