Ethel went to DLM. Weather fine. Yesterday WED, I had a walk to Irenes first time since the New Year.

Ethel refers to my grandmother Ethel May Cecilia Parkin. D.L.M. refers to Drayton Ladies’ Meeting which was part of the activities of Drayton Methodist Church, see Chapter 107.
Irene refers to Irene Bell who lived next-door-but one to grandma and grandad at 162 Drayton High Road. Grandad’s health had not bee good which is why he had not been out, see Chapter 100.
