Ethel & Amy went to DMC both services, after tea they went to MCM Church. S R & Fam came for tea wind very cold.

Ethel refers to Ethel May Cecilia Parkin, my grandmother.
Amy refers to Amy Wilson, grandma’s friend who was visiting them from Mansfield with her husband Tom.
DMC refers to Drayton Methodist Church and MCM Church to Mile cross Methodist Church – see Chapter 107.
S R & Fam refers to Sheila Drew, my mother, Royle Drew, my father and me and my three siblings, Tricia, Alan and Liz. It was our practice to go to grandma and grandad’s for tea on Sunday – see Chapter 106.
