Tuesday 20 March 1973
Arthur called to tell me about the new electric lawn mower he bought yesterday (FLYMO) he was allowed £8 on his old one, price £31.75 paid £23.75. Weather milder. Notes Arthur refers to grandad’s friend Arthur Elsegood.

I had a garden fire for about 4 hours. Weather good for time of year. Notes Bonfires were grandad’s preferred way of disposing of garden refuse (see Chapter 109).
