Leonard & I went to Skegness. Notes Leonard probably refers to grandad’s nephew although it could refer to his brother. It was Whit Monday Bank Holiday and I assume they went to Skegness by motor bike. For more details of places they went on their motor bikes, see Chapter 18.

Went a motor ride. Pulled Leonard on his from Cromford. Notes By motor, I think grandad is referring to motor bike, see Chapter 18. Leonard could refer to grandad’s brother or nephew, probably the latter as he usually referred to his brother as Len. Cromford to Kirkby is a distance of around 18 miles.

In the afternoon went to Nottm. Leonard had a motor cycle. Notes Nottm refers to Nottingham. Leonard could refer to grandad’s brother or his nephew – see Chapter 18. The latter may be more likely as he tended to call his brother Len.
