Went a ride Bleasby & Burton Joyce etc. Notes For more details of places travelled between the wars, see Chapter 18. This journey from Kirkby to Bleasby, Burton Joyce and back is some 40 to 50 miles and was probably made by motorbike.

After 7.30pm went with Arthur to Bleasby with a load of furniture Notes Arthur refers to Arthur Evans, grandad’s brother-in-law, that is the second husband of his sister Eva. Bleasby is a village in Nottinghamshire. I am not exactly sure why grandad and Arthur were taking furniture there. It could have been for a family…
