Went to Primitive Chapel in the afternoon. Notes Primitive refers to Primitive Methodist. The Primitive Methodists were a major offshoot of Methodism in the UK in the 19th century, see Chapter 2. The chapel that grandad attended was called Bourne after one of Primitive Methodist’s founders Hugh Bourne.

During the afternoon Ethel & I worked in the garden. Notes Ethel refers to my grandmother, Ethel May Cecilia Parkin.

E & D went to Norwich in the afternoon. Notes E refers to my grandma Ethel May Cecilia Parkin. D refers to her first cousin, Dorothy Rose, who we knew as Auntie Dolly. She lived in Bedford but often visited grandma and grandad, see Chapter 106.
