Dixons delivered me 5 galls of parrifin 80p and 1″ Paul Warmer wick 11p.

Notes

Dixons refers to a hardware/DIY centre on Reepham Road that grandad used a lot, see Chapter 85. This is now Dixons shopping centre. Galls stands for gallons and parrifin is a mis-spelling of paraffin.

Paul Warmer refers to the Paul Warma paraffin stove that grandad used, in particular, to heat his woodworking cabin.
