Ethel went twice to DMC. Sheila & family came for tea, after tea we had some fire-works.

Ethel refers to my grandmother Ethel May Cecilia Parkin. DMC refers to Drayton Methodist Church, see Chapter 107.
Sheila refers to my mother, Sheila May Drew nee Parkin. It was our usual practice to go to grandma and grandad’s for tea on Sunday afternoon, see Chapter 106.
My recollections of family fireworks are mainly from earlier at Middletons Lane, see Chapter 81. However, in the early seventies, we clearly had fireworks at grandma and grandad’s, see Chapter 106, although I do not recall this.
