Ethel refers to my grandmother Ethel May Cecilia Parkin. Sheila refers to my mother Sheila Drew nee Parkin. I think grandma was helping us settle in as we had just moved from Waverley Road to College Road, see Chapter 102.
David Johnson is someone grandma knew, possible from church, who sometimes gave her lifts.
