Tom, Amy & Amy’s cousin Janet called to see us in the afternoon, they were in holiday in Cromer for a few days. Ethel & I gathered some apples off Ron’s tree (Bramlies) BRAMLIES.

Notes
Tom and Amy refers to Tom and Amy Wilson, friends of grandma and grandad’s who visited them quite often, see Chapter 106.
Ethel refers to my grandmother Ethel May Cecilia Parkin. Ron refers to their next-door neighbour Ron Douglas who lived at 168 Drayton High Road. Grandma and grandad quite often collected apples from his trees, see Chapter 109. I think grandad wrote BRAMLIES in capitals as it was not very clear when he wrote it in lower case. Presumably, he is referring to Bramley apples.
