Ethel refers to my grandmother Ethel May Cecilia Parkin. MCLM refers to Mile Cross Ladies Meeting, a women’s meeting based at Mile Cross Methodist Church, see Chapter 107.
Ron refers to grandma and grandad’s neighbour Ron Douglas. He lived at 168 Drayton High Road. For more details of collecting apples from Ron’s trees, see Chapter 109.
