Monday 10 September 1973

Sheila called with Patricia to take E & I to Norwich. I went to Burtons for a new suit price £36.50. I paid $10 deposit, cannot deliver under 6 weeks. I also bought a cap from Dunn & Co, price £1.60 (what a price). Ethel went after dinner to Norwich called at TSB for a cheque for £187.00 which we are lending Sheila as she is buying a house in College Road.

Sheila refers to my mother, Sheila Drew nee Parkin and Patricia to my sister, Patricia Carrick nee Drew. E refers to my grandmother Ethel May Cecilia Parkin.

For more details of this suit and cap, see Chapter 108. Grandma collected the suit on 12 October 1973. Grandad commented on high prices for both the suit and the cap.

For details of the purchase of, and our subsequent move to, 192 College Road, see Chapter 102.
