Wednesday 15 August 1973

E & D went with a party of ladies to Heatherset to a new opening of a Methodist S.S. Weather hot. Ron put us a mole trap in the garden.

Notes

E refers to my grandma Ethel May Cecilia Parkin. D refers to her first cousin, Dorothy Rose, who we knew as children as Auntie Dolly.

Heatherset is grandad’s idiosyncratic (and incorrect!) way of spelling Hethersett. For details of the trip there, see Chapter 107. S.S. stands for Sunday School.

Ron refers to grandma and grandad’s neighbour Ron Douglas who lived at 168 Drayton High Road, see Chapter 109.
