Ethel went twice to DMC. Sheila & family came for tea, Roy stayed at home, he had some work to do. Got up 7 times.

Ethel refers to my grandmother, Ethel May Cecilia Parkin.
DMC refers to Drayton Methodist Church, see Chapter 107.
Sheila refers to my mother, Sheila Drew nee Parkin. It was our practice to go to grandma and grandad’s for tea on a Sunday afternoon, see Chapter 106.
Roy refers to my father Royle Drew. While he could have had work to do, I suspect this was an excuse as it was not long after this that mum and dad split up, see Chapter 99.
The frequency of getting up reflects prostate problems that grandad was having, see Chapter 100.
